Honest Comparison

eZee alternative for homestays: an honest comparison

eZee is built for hotels with front desks and shift staff. If you run a stay and want something built for busy days — not busy dashboards — here’s how the two compare.

By Rukiye Zara 11 min read Updated September 2026

eZee — now Yanolja Cloud Solution — is one of the most established hospitality platforms in India. With 33,000+ properties across 170+ countries, it earned that position by building a full hotel operating system: PMS, channel manager, booking engine, POS, housekeeping, night audit, and more. For a hotel with a front desk, trained staff, and a restaurant, it’s a strong, proven choice.

But eZee was built for a world where someone is sitting at a front desk, logging every transaction into software. If you run a stay — a homestay, villa, boutique hotel — where the busiest days are the ones where nobody has time to log anything, you need a system that handles the busy day for you, not one that adds to the workload.

Rukiye Zara is built for that exact moment. It’s the same category of software — booking website, PMS, channel manager, operations — but designed so that on your busiest checkout-plus-checkin Saturday, everything still works without you sitting at a dashboard. One setup, published pricing, no payment gateway registration, and a booking engine that creates brand value for your stay — not just a system you log into.

What eZee is called now

eZee Technosys was acquired by Yanolja, a Korean hospitality-tech group, and rebranded to Yanolja Cloud Solution (YCS). The product names haven’t changed — you’ll still see eZee Absolute (PMS), eZee Centrix (channel manager), and eZee Reservation (booking engine).

The scale is real: 33,000+ customers across 170+ countries, 50+ supported languages, 24/7 multilingual support, headquarters in India. Any comparison that doesn’t acknowledge that isn’t honest.

Same tools, different design philosophy

Both platforms handle bookings, channels, a booking engine, and operations. The difference isn’t what they do — it’s who they’re designed for and what happens on a busy day.

eZee’s UI is built around a front-desk workflow: check-in terminals, housekeeping assignment boards, night audits, POS for restaurants and spas, and a reporting stack designed for a general manager reviewing departmental performance. These are the right tools for a property with shift staff — and they’re the reason eZee serves 33,000 customers.

Rukiye Zara is built for the day when nobody has time for software. A checkout and a check-in overlap, a last-minute booking comes through on WhatsApp, a rate needs to change across four channels, and the owner is also the one greeting the guests at the door. The system handles it — without needing someone to sit at a dashboard and log every step. If you already use Airbnb, Booking.com, or Agoda, the screens feel familiar. Most hosts are live and taking bookings on day one, with no training sessions.

Some eZee reviewers describe a steep learning curve, particularly with POS modules that require support-team collaboration. That’s a fair trade-off when you have dedicated staff to train. It’s a different conversation when the whole property is one person and their phone.

Pricing: published vs. quoted

eZee uses room-count-based, quote-only pricing. You fill a form, take a demo call, and get a custom quote for the modules you need. The booking engine and website builder are separate paid add-ons. POS is another. The total depends on what you enable — which means you often don’t know the full cost until after the sales conversation.

Rukiye Zara publishes pricing on the website, quoted by units and listings. Start free with no upfront fee and no payment gateway registration. Commission applies only on bookings through your own booking engine — never on Airbnb, Booking.com, MakeMyTrip, or any OTA booking. As you grow, commission drops with each plan tier, and on the top tier there’s no commission on the booking engine at all.

The booking website is included on every plan — not a paid add-on. And because there’s no payment gateway registration needed to launch, you can be live and accepting bookings the same day you sign up.

Fair point for eZee: their model is pure subscription with no per-booking commission. That means a full house doesn’t cost more. Rukiye Zara’s answer: on the top tier there’s zero commission on the booking engine — a full house is pure upside there too, and you got there without a demo call or a quoted add-on for the website.

Earnings and GST reports — the biggest USP

This is where the gap is widest for an Indian stay owner. Rukiye Zara generates one downloadable report that covers reservations, cancellations, earnings, and tax amount — everything a CA needs for GST filing, in one place, in one file. 5% and 18% GST reports with clear taxable amounts and reservation counts, designed by people who have filed these returns themselves.

eZee has reporting too — it’s a mature platform with extensive report options. But the reporting is built for hotel general managers reviewing departmental performance, not for a stay owner who needs one clean file for their CA. Some users find it hard to extract exactly what’s needed without customisation.

For a stay owner filing GST quarterly, a single CA-ready report isn’t a feature — it’s the feature.

A booking site that builds your brand

Every Rukiye Zara plan includes a booking website — your property name, your photos, your rates, an inbuilt theme library to choose from, and a booking flow guests already recognise from Airbnb and MakeMyTrip. Secure payments, cancellation terms shown before checkout, real coupons, photos grouped room by room. Guests trust it because it looks and works like what they’re already used to — but with your brand in the link.

eZee’s booking engine is a capable product — but it’s a separate paid module, and the website builder is another add-on on top. For a stay that just wants a live booking link to share on Google, Instagram, and WhatsApp, that’s two purchases to achieve what’s included free on Rukiye Zara.

Already have your own website? Keep it.

This is something no other platform at this level offers. If you’ve already built a website you love — your own domain, your own design — you don’t have to abandon it. Rukiye Zara hands you the API: guests book inside your design, and RZ still creates the reservation, blocks the calendar across every OTA, and collects the payment. Your brand stays entirely yours. About two days of integration, and your guests never leave your domain.

Run it from your phone

Rukiye Zara isn’t “a desktop platform with a mobile app.” It’s phone-first — designed so that the entire stay runs from mobile, and the desktop is the bonus, not the other way around.

  • One-tap WhatsApp — message guests directly from the booking dashboard.
  • WhatsApp automation templates — booking confirmations, guest detail collection, pre-arrival messages. Set up once, it handles the 10 PM last-minute booking automatically.
  • Digital check-in with ID upload — guests submit ID before arrival. DPDP-compliant, Amazon-encrypted.
  • Team access with granular permissions — caretaker sees check-ins but not earnings; accountant sees GST reports but not guest details. Invite, set permissions, they’re working the same day.
  • Rate changes pushed everywhere — update once, syncs across all connected OTAs and your direct site.
  • Import listing from Airbnb — pull in your rooms, photos, and details. No rebuilding from scratch.
  • Reputation management — track and respond to reviews from inside the platform.
  • App Store — new tools added continuously. WhatsApp automation, digital check-in, reputation management, and more — each available as an add-on when you need it, not bundled into a plan you don’t.

eZee has a mobile app, and it works. The difference is design priority: eZee extends a desktop platform to a phone. Rukiye Zara’s phone experience is the platform — built for the owner who’s greeting a guest at the door while confirming a booking on the same phone.

Setup and support

Both platforms include onboarding at no extra cost — credit to eZee for offering free migration and training. So the question isn’t whether you get help, but how it works.

eZee’s support is built for scale: 24/7 multilingual, ticket-based, account managers. For a hotel chain across time zones, that’s the right model.

Rukiye Zara gives you one named person who knows your property — not a ticket queue. When a reservation is stuck or a rate didn’t push, you message the same contact and get an answer. Your support isn’t a helpdesk; it’s a person who’s already been inside your dashboard.

Onboarding is a 15-minute setup call where the team imports your listings (including directly from Airbnb), cross-checks rates and inventory with you, and connects your channels. Staff training and 1:1 calls are included on paid plans. You’re not reading a manual; someone is setting it up with you.

Not just a booking system — a brand backbone

This is the part most comparisons miss. eZee is a system you use to manage operations — bookings, rates, housekeeping. Rukiye Zara is that too, but it’s also the infrastructure that builds brand value for your stay.

  • Your booking website is your brand — not a generic booking page with another company’s logo. Theme library, your photos, your domain if you want it.
  • White-label API — if you already have a website, plug in our backend. Guests book on your domain, we handle calendars and payments invisibly.
  • Rukiye Zara’s curated stays marketplace — qualified stays get listed on the RZ platform, bringing bookings directly to you. Your property earns discovery alongside other quality stays, not inside a sea of budget listings.
  • Guest trust built into the booking flow — cancellation terms visible before payment, real coupons, photos grouped by room. More guests finish the booking because the experience feels familiar and professional.

Over time, this is what compounds: guests remember your brand, not the software behind it. The system disappears; the stay stands out.

When eZee wins

eZee is the stronger choice when:

  • You need full restaurant or spa POS integrated with your property management.
  • You need GDS and travel-agent distribution beyond OTAs.
  • You operate across multiple countries and need multi-language, multi-currency, multi-timezone infrastructure.
  • You need an iOS app today — eZee has one; Rukiye Zara’s iOS is in review and launching soon.
  • You want 200+ channel connections — eZee’s Centrix covers a wider channel network.

If any of these are deal-breakers, eZee is genuinely the better fit. It’s a mature platform with serious scale, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.

When Rukiye Zara wins

  • You want easy setup — live in under 10 minutes, no demo call, no payment gateway paperwork.
  • Your busiest days are the ones where nobody has time for software — the system handles it without you logging every step.
  • You want published pricing — see your cost on the website before talking to anyone.
  • You want a booking website included free — with a theme library, not as a paid add-on.
  • You already have a website you love — plug in the API and keep your brand, your domain, your design.
  • You want one CA-ready report — earnings, cancellations, GST, one file.
  • You want brand value, not just operations — a booking engine guests trust, a curated marketplace that brings discovery, and an App Store that grows with you.

Switching is 15 minutes

No migration guides. No exporting spreadsheets. No three weeks of parallel running.

The Rukiye Zara team handles the switch for you. One 15-minute setup call where the team imports your listings — including directly from Airbnb if that’s where your listing lives — cross-checks rates and inventory, and connects your OTA channels. You show up, they do the work.

By the end of the call, your booking website is live, your channels are connected, and your rates match what you had before. If anything needs adjusting afterward, the same person is a WhatsApp message away.

The cross-check step matters: the team verifies your rates and inventory match your existing setup before you go live. You’re not migrating alone, and nothing goes public until both sides confirm it’s right.
